Sales of Nvidia GPUs for Miners Collapse: Demand for CMP 3D Accelerators Drops 60% QoQ

Nvidia has published its third quarter report, and there are a lot of interesting things in it. So, it is reported that the demand for CMP video cards, focused on miners, fell by 60% compared to the previous quarter: if revenue from CMP video cards in the second quarter was $ 250 million, then in the third – only $ 105 million. Against this background, gaming video cards continue to enjoy stable demand. In annual terms, sales of 3D-GeForce cards increased by 40%, in quarterly – by 5%.

Interestingly, GPU RTX now accounts for 25% of total graphics cards – both for desktops and laptops. Another interesting point: Nvidia indicated that almost all 3D cards in the RTX 30 line shipped in Q3 were mining-protected (i.e. LHR versions).

As for the overall results of work for the third quarter, the revenue was $ 7.1 billion – 50% more than in the same quarter last year.
