Analyst firm Counterpoint has published fresh sales statistics for Xiaomi devices and its other products, comparing the figures for the second quarter in 2022 and 2021. As the figures show, the share of sales of smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer has dropped significantly.
As you can see in the infographic above, smartphone sales have significantly decreased – a year earlier they occupied 67.3% of all areas of the company, but now they have decreased to 60.2%. Nevertheless, all other products (IoT gadgets, services, etc.) increased their shares. The basis of Xiaomi’s revenue comes from smartphones: in a year, revenue fell by 20.1% to $10.3 billion. If we take into account specifically smartphones, then their sales revenue decreased by 28.5% to $6.2 billion.

Counterpoint Senior Analyst Ivan Lam commented:
In the second quarter, Xiaomi’s smartphone business was outpaced by Samsung overseas and HONOR in China’s home market. After the shopping festival “618” in the middle of the year [в честь юбилея китайской торговой площадки JD.com], Xiaomi’s inventory situation in China has improved and returned to normal levels. However, stock issues are still plaguing Xiaomi in other regional markets as global inflation and a looming macroeconomic recession keep buyers from buying or replacing smartphones. In China, HONOR’s strong momentum also put pressure on Xiaomi’s smartphone sales in the second quarter. Xiaomi’s shipment share ranked fourth in China, while HONOR secured first place.
Despite everything, in the second quarter of 2022, the global share of Xiaomi smartphones accounted for 13.4% of sales – this provided the company with the third place in the world after Apple and Samsung.
