Yesterday, July 26, the British company Mini officially introduced the world to its latest electric crossover called the Aceman, which, however, is just a concept to demonstrate a new approach to body and interior design. Accordingly, this particular car model will not reach mass production, but Mini says that this is a conditional demonstration of what the next generation of brand vehicles will look like. And there really is something to look at – only lighting technology deserves special attention and praise, since it is fundamentally different from what the manufacturer previously used.
For example, on the front side of the car, you can see running lights that have received a white LED strip edging – it looks very futuristic, like from science fiction films. In addition, on the front side of the car above the bumper is another LED strip. True, it is not entirely clear how turn signals on the front of the body will be implemented in this car. At the rear, the brake lights are also made of LEDs with a rather interesting pattern, reminiscent of the UK flag cut in half. It is also worth paying attention to the disks – they are quite large, look stylish and probably improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
The interior of the new Mini looks more or less standard – most of the details are already used in the current generation, but there are a few amusing moments. For example, the manufacturer plans to abandon the dedicated dashboard – instead, a round panel will be placed in the center of the console, into which a touch screen will be built. He will be responsible for the multimedia capabilities of the car, and act as a dashboard. The solution is extremely interesting, since in this case nothing distracts the driver while driving, plus a projection screen could well replace the dashboard in many scenarios, but not all drivers will agree with such an upgrade.
But the manufacturer did not talk about the technical equipment of the car – it is only known that this is an electric car. It is likely that the manufacturer will use the BMW FAAR platform, which is already used in the X1 crossover, as the basis for the novelty, but Mini representatives will tell all the details closer to the release, which, if the situation has not changed, will take place in 2024.
