Salvador City Hall launches this year the first edition of Viva Verão , an event to keep the festivities going after Carnival. Mayor Bruno Reis announced this Thursday (1st) on social media the musical attractions of the project, which will have free shows in Praça Cairu, in Comércio, between the 16th and 25th of February.
Viva Verão will have shows from Mariene de Castro, Gaby Amarantos, AYABASS (Luedji Luna, Xênia França and Larissa Luz), Novos Baianos, Timbalada, Márcia Short, Majur and Glória Groove .
The program also features performances by Afro groups from the capital of Bahia, such as Malê Debalê, Cortejo Afro, Didá, Ilê Aiyê and the afoxé Filhos de Gandhy, as well as appearances by Majur, Hiran and Cortejo Zambiapunga.
Salvador was named the most desired tourist destination in Brazil for 2024, according to research released by the Ministry of Tourism. The City Hall's expectation is to generate R$2 billion in the Salvador economy during Carnival alone.
