Salvador has a 90% chance of rain over the weekend

Autumn is showing up in Salvador. Since the early hours of last Tuesday (2), rain has been bringing disruption to the capital of Bahia, with some neighborhoods flooded, thunderstorms and even lightning. The same can be expected for this Saturday (6) and Sunday (7), with a 90% chance of rain. The alert was made by the city's Civil Defense.

According to Civil Defense, there is a risk of flooding and landslides also at the weekend. On both days, the forecast is for cloudy to partially cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Throughout the week that is about to end, the highest accumulations were above 100 mm in some locations, with the historical average for April being 284.9 mm. In other words, in just five days it has rained almost half of what was expected for the entire month.

Also according to information from the Salvador Civil Defense Alert and Alarm Monitoring Center (Cemadec), this Friday alone (5), the city has already accumulated more than 60 emergency requests to the agency, including landslides, falling trees, flooding and the threat of landslides.
