Sam Bankman-Fried will be released earlier

Former CEO FTX Exchange Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) will be released, approximately, on December 14, 2044, which is less than the sentence appointed by the court at the age of 25. This follows from the data of the US Federal Bureau (BOP).

Recall that the court sentenced the Bankman-Frid case on March 28, 2024-25 years of prison. However, in his case, according to the BOP website, another date of liberation appears, four years less than the set deadline.

In a commentary on Business Insider, a BOP representative said that the exemption period is indicated in the affairs of the prisoners, taking into account the maximum possible reduction in the sentence with good behavior – 54 days for each year.

This involves participation in various target programs and the lack of penalties for violation of discipline. In addition, the source of the publication indicated that SBF was probably credited with two months spent by him in the insulator.

The card also states that the former FTX CEO is serving a sentence in Terminal Island FCI prison. He was transferred here relatively recently, before that he was kept for some time in one of the most dangerous prisons in California.

The former girl SBF and ex-eo of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison can claim to reduce a term of six months. Previously, she was sentenced to two years in prison. However, with good behavior, it can be released already in May 2026.
