Exactly one year has passed since, on April 30th, Saman Abbas lost track. The latest images of the 18-year-old Pakistani woman who disappeared from Novellara, in the province of Reggio Emilia, are those returned by a security camera positioned above the entrance to his home family’s.
At ten past twelve, Saman is walking with his parents, with a backpack on the shoulders. According to the Reggio Emilia prosecutor, an uncle and two cousins, who are now in prison, were waiting for her. It was then that the girl was killed. Some time later, the parents return home, but she is not there: the backpack is on the father’s shoulder.

Saman’s body, however, was never found. The land was patrolled for 67 days by more than 500 carabinieri, provincial police and firefighters, who worked with the help of drones and molecular dogs. But no trace was found of the body.
