Samsung Electronics has appealed against the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court to ban the Samsung Pay payment service.

The appeal appeared in the file of arbitration cases. The complaint was filed on August 11, the case was sent to court on August 17, and the application was accepted for consideration on August 18. The next court hearing on this case is scheduled for August 31.
Recall that at the end of July, the Moscow Arbitration Court satisfied the claim of the Swiss company “Squin SA”, which accused Samsung of using the invention under patent No. 2686003 without its consent as the copyright holder. According to the protocol of the court’s decision, the operation of the Samsung Pay payment service and the import of devices that support it into the country are actually prohibited in Russia.
If Samsung had not appealed the court ruling within 30 days, it would have entered into force. According to experts, such a court decision jeopardizes other payment systems, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
