Samsung Electronics has begun to notify users of its smartwatches about the imminent closure of the Get Location service. Users of the Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch Active 2, and the original Galaxy Watch have started receiving alerts.

The function is part of the Find My Watch service and allows you to find the watch using your smartphone. This requires opening the Galaxy Wearable app and then tapping Find My Watch. Get Location or “Find a location” indicates the address of the current location of the watch, and also view it on a map.

As Samsung warns, the service will stop working on March 15, 2021. At the same time, Find My Watch will continue to work, only Get Location will disappear, that is, it will not be possible to determine the address and position on the map.

As a replacement, Samsung has already launched a new service, SmartThings Find, which was unveiled alongside the flagship Galaxy S21 series of smartphones. This feature was added via an update to the Galaxy Active Watch 2 in mid-January and the Galaxy Active Watch 3 in early February.
