Samsung began its February with the announcement of a fresh flagship line of Galaxy S23 smartphones. The update can in no way be considered a rethinking, it is rather minor improvements, since among the main innovations are a slight redesign of the camera block with minimalism, improvements in photo capabilities and traditionally the latest top processor, this time the exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. Unlike the older Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have more mundane specifications, which is why the duo of models in general is very different from the main flagship.

The diagonals have not changed – the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 + are equipped with flat 6.1-inch and 6.6-inch displays, respectively, Dynamic AMOLED 2X matrix technology with HDR10 + support. Both smartphones have an Infinity-O cutout for the front camera and the same adaptive refresh rate from 48 Hz to 120 Hz. The resolution is last year’s (Full HD +), but the maximum brightness when viewing HDR content is increased to 1,750 nits, like the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is now used as a protective glass.
The main difference between the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ from its predecessors is the processor. Qualcomm’s latest mobile platform turned out to be a priority – by agreement with the chipmaker, smartphones even became the first in the world with it “under the hood”, there are no analogues with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 yet. It was decided to completely abandon models based on branded Exynos, so they will not be released on European markets as a separate modification. Claimed a 34% increase in compute performance and a 41% increase in graphics performance thanks to a new cluster structure, higher clock speeds, a state-of-the-art 4nm process technology, and the next-generation Adreno 740 video accelerator.

What other changes in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+:
- 8 GB LPDDR5X RAM;
