Samsung has lost another phase of the battle over semiconductor manufacturing equipment, the source said.
It is no secret that the Dutch company ASML is the only large manufacturer of the corresponding equipment in the world capable of meeting the demand of the market giants. But its capabilities are not enough for everyone.

The source says ASLM shipped about 100 semiconductor manufacturing machines using EUV, but 70% of them were bought by TSMC. For how long these machines were shipped, it is not specified, but, apparently, over the past year.
As a result, at the end of the first quarter of this year, TSMC occupied 56% of the market for contract manufacturing of semiconductors, which is 2 percentage points more than a year earlier. In two years, TSMC has increased its share by 8 percentage points, while Samsung has lost 1 percentage point.
Also, large customers like AMD and Apple are now in the hands of TSMC, that is, Samsung is losing in this direction.
