The British international market research and data analysis company YouGov has published a fresh report on the best brands in the world. This list is currently headed by Samsung Electronics, which managed to overtake Google, which has dominated this field in recent years. The final results were announced on 20 November.
According to the report, Samsung Electronics scored 127 points and topped the YouGov Global Best Brand Rankings 2022. For a South Korean company, this is a pretty solid achievement as it made an incredible jump from fourth position. The year before last, Samsung ranked second in the list of the world’s best brands.
The previous leader, Google, scored 106 points and dropped to second place. It is followed by YouTube (85 points), Netflix (59 points) and Shopee (51 points). Probably, many will wonder what kind of brand Shopee is. It is a young but large e-commerce technology company based in Singapore. Also in the top ten brands in the world are WhatsApp, Toyota, Colgate, Mercedes-Benz and Lidl. Adidas and Nike, which were in the top 10 last year, disappeared from the list, and Toyota and Mercedes took their places.
The YouGov rating is based on a variety of factors, including product and service quality, value, personal experience, customer satisfaction, and recommendations. The company evaluates brands that are represented in 38 markets (380 items). BusinessKorea notes that this year, Samsung received the highest scores in South Korea, the Netherlands, Vietnam and Ireland, and the lowest in Canada and Denmark. A total of 19 out of 38 markets ranked Samsung among the top 10 brands in 2022. Through mobile products, SmartThings applications and other innovations, the company has been able to win the trust of customers in various fields.
