Samsung in its Telegram channel officially announced that its Samsung Pay payment system will continue to work in Russia, however, Russians will not be able to use some of the functions that are available to residents of other countries.

The good news is that Samsung Pay continues to operate in the Russian Federation. Not very good news – due to the restrictions of international payment systems in relation to Russian banks, some operations may not be available at the moment. Namely:
- Payments and money transfers using Samsung Pay with Mastercard and Visa cards of Russian banks;
- Issue of new tickets for the Virtual Troika transport card in the Moscow Metro application. The Virtual Troika tickets previously issued and already added to Samsung Pay will continue to work in the capital’s transport.

At the same time, payments with Mir cards of any banks work in Samsung Pay without restrictions. Their list can be found at this link.
