Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of a useful Russian-language video course “Galaxy Upcycling – the new life of an old smartphone.”
The video course is devoted to how to make a useful device from a disused smartphone. Video lectures of the course will be published on the YouTube channel of Samsung IT Academy.
The materials were prepared by specialists from the Russian Research Center Samsung (Samsung Research Russia). The introductory part of the course introduces the concept of “Upcycling” and the existing uses of the smartphone. The course is based on practice-oriented lessons that will teach users how to turn an old Android gadget into a new device: a mini-projector, a clock, a smart garland with SmartThings support, and so on.
As noted by Samsung, the video course will be of interest to anyone who loves DIY crafts and wants to support an eco-friendly lifestyle by prolonging the life of things. To master the course program, no special knowledge is required, since the material is presented in an accessible language, and the tasks and examples are easy to repeat on your own mobile devices.
