The music festival that (really) was missing was born in the mind of Samuel Romano. «When I feel like escaping, I idealize the sea»He says. And so the singer-songwriter, 49 years old and frontman of Subsonica, did last year, after the very long lockdown. He landed in Stromboli, Aeolian Islands, and “invented” a distance-proof concert: aboard a caique, and the other boats – the public – around. This year not only Samuel returns to the Aeolian Islands but he does so as the artistic director of the first Eolie Music Fest, the festival suspended between wind and sea.
A special format that sees five concerts in the water (and many other special “terrestrial” events) in front of the Aeolian Islands: a traveling stage-caique, which will cross the bays of Lipari, Vulcano, Salina and Stromboli. From 23 to 30 June 2021. In addition to Samuel and Subsonica (23/06 – Lipari), they will perform Colapescedimartino e Not Genea (24/06- Vulcano), bandakadabra e Max Casacci (25/06 – Lipari), Willie Peyote, Samuel with bandakadabra (26/06 – Salina), The Winstons e Bold font (27/06 – Salina), and promoted by Marea Eventi, with the patronage of ENIT, the Municipality of Malfa, the Municipality of Lipari, Siae and Assoimprese Aeolian.
