We felt, we talked about the project and our passions met. Music belongs to me and belongs to all of us, it is a universal language, a way to communicate. Friendship is the heart of this song. What is its meaning for you?
«Friendship is a huge value. In this case it is even more so, because people with autism can be victims of prejudices, put “at the bottom of the list” by those who do not understand or do not want to understand. Simone, in the past, has tried it on his skin, until he found his way and his way to be heard in music. I thought before accepting this collaboration, but only because I wanted to be sure I could make an authentic contribution ».

We know her well especially as an actor, but she is also a professional singer.
«Yes, I’m also a songwriter. Among my latest works, in January 2023, for the first birthday of my daughter Isabel, I published What is a dad. The video clip is set in Naples. Why this choice?
«I live in Milan, Simone in San Severo, near Foggia. Naples seemed like a good meeting point, as well as a perfect city to tell this story. I carry it in the heart, and it is the city of A place in the sun. In the video Simone, at the beginning, is alone in Piazza Plebiscito, which seems immense and empty. Then comes a friend and everything changes: the square fills with life, color, smiles. It is a powerful metaphor. The city welcomed us in an extraordinary way: while we were at the bar for a coffee, we met Peppe Lanzetta by chance, the actor who plays the cardinal treasure in Parthenope. And he too wanted to take part in the video, while risking losing the train ».

How did Simone experience this experience?
“At the beginning he was very excited, then he let himself go and it was pure joy. People welcomed him enthusiastically and he returned everything with his voice and soul. What he manages to convey through music is extraordinary: an energy that breaks down every barrier ».

Today, April 2, it is the world day for awareness on autism. What is the message of We are friends?
“We want to make autism talk, a reality that concerns many families. What matters is what is created when two people meet: we have to break down stereotypes and learn to look beyond. Too often diversity is seen as something wrong, but it is only because little is known. “

Have you always been sensitive to these issues?
«Yes, but the birth of my daughter, three years ago, made me even more careful. When you become a parent, you no longer look at yourself, but you learn to look even further, and to see things with new eyes. You realize how urgent it is to give everyone their own contribution to build a more inclusive world. Better, ultimately ».

What left you this experience with Magos?
«When at the end of the video clip Simone embraced me, I felt immense joy, one of those emotions that are rarely felt in life. I went home satisfied, happy to have made something important. For me it was an incredible enrichment. I believe that each of us has a duty to contribute to the progress of our time: this experience gave me the opportunity to do it, and I am grateful to this ».
