Sandy participated in the podcast ‘Quem Pode, Pod’ this Tuesday (15) and made some revelations about her personal life. The singer has been married to fellow musician Lucas Lima since 2008 and together they are the parents of Theo, nine years old.
Xororó’s queue revealed that they already had some comings and goings before establishing a serious relationship. In the interview, Sandy revealed that they dated for the first time when they were young and that the main reason for the breakup was the mismatch of schedules since Lucas lived in Porto Alegre and she was recording series, songs, shows and studies.
“It was kind of impossible. In the beginning he lived in Porto Alegre, it was all at the same time and we didn’t even see each other. Also, towards the end of our relationship my parents weren’t very supportive. It was teenage stuff they didn’t agree with and they thought he was a bad influence on me,” she said.
Junior’s sister revealed that they ended up liking each other and that they got back together but soon broke up again. “We broke up without wanting to. Sad because I liked him as a friend but I didn’t like him as a boyfriend and we stayed together for 1 year and 10 months and we fought a lot. We didn’t know how to fit our differences in,” she explained.
The singer also said that they were separated for about a year and a half, that she even went through another heartbreak and that, when they got back together for good, she asked her husband to marry her. Sandy said that after spending time together on the farm, Lucas even told her that he was ready for the next step.
“Look, I’m ready to date. I see you’re not there yet, but when you think you’re ready, let me know I’m here”, said Lucas.
The singer revealed that she wanted to make the move after he made it clear that he was already prepared and said that Lucas was thrilled. “We were going to watch the movie ‘Troy’. I was very empowered and thought: ‘No man needs to ask me, I’m going to ask’. I went there and asked. I picked a flower, knelt down and asked: ‘Do you want to date me?’”, declared Sandy.
The couple has been together for 19 years, and the artist said that they know how to deal very well with the couple’s difficulties and problems. “We managed to make it work because we were already more cool to deal with our difficulties and I also always went to therapy”, she detailed.
