Sanremo 2021: Fedez and Francesca Michielin remain in the race

Together with the knot of the extras, the tweet of Dario Franceschini, the cruise and the judgment of the Cts, the risk of the exclusion of Fedez and Francesca Michielin from the race would have been the umpteenth blow to be amortized for the Sanremo Festival 2021, yet another worry to be solved. Averted danger: as Rai has made it known, the two will participate in the Festival as it was established, dispelling any doubts about a possible expulsion. On January 30, in fact, he had risked big when a 6-second video of the song was camped on Fedez’s Instagram profile Call me by name the one that the duo will bring to the Ariston on March 2nd.

By regulation, in fact, the artists are required to protect the piece before the start of Sanremo, blocking any audio track broadcast before that date. In the specific case of Fedez it was, of course, an error, since the Story was initially supposed to be without audio and was promptly canceled. “The Organization of the Festival and the Artistic Direction of Sanremo 2021, while expressing serious condemnation for the incident, do not believe they should take any measures in this regard” reads the note released by Rai. “The duration of the interpretation in the video – posted and subsequently deleted by the artist – is in fact extremely reduced and such as not to reveal the piece itself, which cannot be considered widespread and therefore maintains the novelty characteristic required by the regulations of the manifestation “.

The Festival is used to managing the risk of disqualification of the artists competing for similar problems. Before Fedez it happened, in fact, also to Paola and Chiara in 2005, to Simone Cristicchi in 2006, a Gigi D’Alessio and Loredana Bertè in 2012 and, more recently, to Riki (in his case, however, it was not the song in the competition, but the cover of Edera that he would propose on stage during the evening of the duets). In all these cases, the Festival had considered turning a blind eye and allowing the artists to compete.
