Less restrictions, the audience in the hall, the masks and the full capacity of the theater. Sanremo, one year after the edition that forced him to do without applause, is destined to find a semi-normality again. “Rai follows the rules valid for cinemas and theaters to the letter”, explained the director of RaiUno, Stefano Coletta, promising as elements of the Festival “lightness, depth, but also a provocative register that is needed”. Sanremo, debut on Tuesday, at 8.35pmwill live, therefore, of apparently antithetical moments: the irony of some guests will give way to the monologues of others, and the celebrations of the whole art will give rhythm to their alternation.
The debut evening will see Ornella Muti, co-host, pay homage to Italian cinema, while i Måneskin they will perform on the stage that last March saw them winners, followed by Matteo Berrettinisuper guest, come on Meduza and accompanied by Fiorello, the man who should have been replaced by a hardcover. Ciuri, as Amadeus affectionately calls him, decided at the last minute to return to the Ariston. It was a surprise, a header. “Until last week, I was convinced that he would not come,” admitted the artistic director, who on the first evening of his Sanremo will see twelve of the twenty-five Big in the competition perform. Below, and in order of appearance, is the list of those who will sing during this long Tuesday, at the end of which a first ranking of the songs presented will be drawn up. The songs will be voted, separately, by the jury of the press and TV, radio and the web.
