Sanremo 2023, the ratings of the fourth evening

On the eve of the grand finale, Amadeus gives to Sanremo Music Festival 2023 the highest share since 1987the year in which the Auditel surveys were introduced: with 66.5% it exceeds not only itself but almost half a century of history of the Ariston Theater kermesse, precisely the one that was monitored in terms of audience.

With an average of 11,120,000 viewers on Rai Uno he has something to toast because better than him in the fourth evening was only then done by Pippo Baudo with guests of the caliber of Whitney Houston and the Duran Duran (with a 67.5% share on Friday), recalling that until 1994 (and excluding 1989) the singing event lasted four episodes. The first part was watched by 15,046,000 (equal to 65.1% share), the second by 7,129,000 (69.7%) and Sanremo Start by 12,334,000 (with 51.1%). The third episode of this 2023, on the other hand, had suffered a slight, physiological decline in ratings.

It was not a surprise, but a confirmation the performance as a true professional on stage: we are talking about the co-host of the evening, Chiara Francini, in a luxurious interlude between commitments in theatre, as a writer and on TV as a judge of Drag Race Italia (the talent show of Discovery+ and Real Time) which sees her alongside Priscilla and Tommaso Zorzi.

The evening of covers and duets sparked off clearly beating the proposals of the competition: The family home on Canale 5 it totaled 829,000 spectators (share of 3.63%), on Rai Due the thriller Widows – Criminal Legacy with Viola Davis (fresh off EGOT) 282,000 (1.22%) saw it, while Hyenas Show out of Italy 1 in 732,000 (3.96%). I remember – The land of my fathers on Rai Tre it earned 387,000 spectators (1.6%) e Fourth Degree on Rete 4 instead 737,000 (3.73%).

How did the three previous editions of the San Remo Festival signed by Amadeus? The data all refer to the fourth evening.

In 2022, an average of 11 million 378 thousand spectators followed it (60.5% share). The first part of the fourth evening totaled 14 million 731 thousand viewers (equal to 59.2% share), while the second part obtained 7 million 543 thousand viewers (63.5% share).

In 2021, the average audience was 7 million and 880 thousand (equal to 44.7% share). The first part kept 11 million and 115 thousand spectators glued to their seats (43.3%), while the second 4 million and 980 thousand people (48.2%).

In 2020 it reached an average of 9 million and 504 thousand (equal to 53.3% share). In the first part there were 12 million and 674 thousand viewers (52.3% share), in the second 5 million and 795 thousand (56% share).
