Santa Catarina, Paraná and São Paulo are at risk of rain and flooding this Sunday

The beginning of the week has heavy rains forecast for almost all regions of Brazil, with a warning of thunderstorms between the center east of Santa Catarina, from the south to the east of Paraná, extreme northeast of Rio Grande do Sul and southwest of São Paulo. Climatempo warns of the risk of damage in these areas this Sunday (15).

The other areas of the state of SP, including the capital, the south and east of Mato Grosso do Sul, and the range from Ceará to Maranhão should also have accumulated rain and risk alert for flooding.

Much of this rain is due to the formation of a low atmospheric pressure on the coast of the southern region of the country, which should give rise to a cold front on Monday (16), in addition to a corridor of humidity that comes from the Amazon.

The northern strip of Brazil should also see an increase in the volume of rainfall, due to the meeting of the winds in the two hemispheres, the so-called Intertropical Convergence Zone.

Of the 26 capitals and DF, 19 present a risk of heavy rain and storms this Sunday (15), with a greater risk of hail in Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
