THE International Film Festival in São Paulo, which began last Thursday (20th) and runs until the 2nd, will honor two personalities who made history in the film industry and died this year: Jean-Luc Godard and Arnaldo Jabor .
The French filmmaker, one of the great names of the Nouvelle Vague and the deconstruction of the language of cinema, will be on the big screen in the exhibition of the documentary ” See you Friday, Robinson “, by Mitra Farahani. He is one of the protagonists of the film, which depicts an exchange of correspondence between him and the Iranian director Ebrahim Golestan, and was awarded at the last Berlin Film Festival.
Godard died aged 91 on September 13, 2022. He is known for classics such as “harassed” (1960) and “The Contempt” (1963).
The Brazilian director, Arnaldo Jabor a filmmaker restless in his critical view of Brazilian society, will have in his honor the exhibition of one of his classics, “I love you” 1980s film.
Jabor died on February 15, 2022, aged 81. Among his successful productions are: “All Nudity Will Be Punished” (1973) and “I Know I Will Love You” (1986).
