With the La Niña phenomenon still active and intensified in 2022, the forecast is that in the center-north of the country autumn will be characterized by wetter than normal conditions, especially at the beginning of the season, according to information from Inmet.
Respiratory diseases
Autumn is also known for the increased incidence of respiratory diseases in the South and Southeast regions, a condition stimulated by dry air and drop in temperatures. In an interview with CNNthe coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the State of São Paulo, João Gabbardo, spoke about the use of masks as prevention: “respiratory diseases have always brought deaths, infections, they are there and will continue to exist, the use of masks for immunosuppressed people or people with flu symptoms means lowering the risk, and we will encourage that.”
