São Paulo may have the coldest dawn of the year with the arrival of polar air

The mass of cold air of polar origin, which passed through southern Brazil causing temperatures below 10ºC, arrives, this Wednesday (9), in São Paulo, leaving the temperatures milder and removing the conditions for rain in most of the year. coast and interior of the state.

The capital of São Paulo dawned with few clouds and a feeling of cold, an average of 16ºC and humidity around 90%, according to the Center for Climate Emergency Management (CGE) of the City of São Paulo.

“Weather radar images do not indicate rain in the entire eastern strip of the state”, says the CGE, in a note.

According to Climatempo, the dawn of this Wednesday could be the coldest of the year in São Paulo, with a forecast of a minimum of 16ºC. Until then, the lowest temperature recorded in 2022 in the capital of São Paulo was 16.3ºC, on January 10th.

“The temperature is also mild on Thursday, but tends to rise from Friday, however, with marks always below 30°C”, predicts Climatempo. Conditions for rain showers also tend to increase over the weekend.

This Wednesday (9), some regions of São Paulo can still register rains.

“The region of Franca and the entire north of the state of São Paulo, the region of Serra da Mantiqueira, the North Coast and Vale do Paraíba may have moderate to heavy rain showers”, points out Climatempo.

According to Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology), the region of Franca has already registered 185 mm of rain in the month of February. The historical monthly average is around 244 mm.
