São Paulo records lowest maximum temperature in November in 23 years

On Wednesday (2), the city of São Paulo recorded 15.4°C, the lowest maximum temperature for the month of November in 23 years, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). The previous value was 14.3°C, recorded on November 10, 1999.

According to the institute, the cold in the month of November is atypical and should remain until the end of this week, with the possibility of negative temperatures and frost in the southern region of the country until Friday (4).

These unseasonal low temperatures are a reflection of the La Niña phenomenon, which began in October 2021, and is responsible for cooling the waters of the equatorial Pacific and altering temperatures across the planet.

In São Paulo, temperatures will remain low until Sunday (7), with maximums around 20°C.

There is a possibility of rain throughout the week in the capital of São Paulo and minimum temperatures that can reach 10°C.
