The state of São Paulo announced this Thursday (17) that it will send reinforcements to the rescue teams working in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro.
In a post on Twitter, Governor João Doria (PSDB) said that tomorrow (18) a team of firefighters with sniffer dogs, an eagle helicopter and ground support will be sent to the municipality.

Civil Defense has already confirmed 111 deaths as a result of the heavy rains that have hit the Serrana Region of Rio since Tuesday. According to experts, the situation could be aggravated due to storms that should hit the places between today and tomorrow.
The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL), thanked Doria for having responded to the request to send sniffer dogs to help with the searches.

The most recent update from the Civil Police, made this morning, indicates the registration of 134 missing persons.
Rescues are concentrated in the Morro da Oficina region, where at least 40 houses were buried after the rains. Other regions were also affected, such as 24 de Maio, Caxambu, Sargento Boening, Moinho Preto, Vila Felipe, Vila Militar and Uruguay, Washington Luiz and Coronel Veiga streets.
