Sarah Jessica Parker speaks for the first time about the “feud” with Kim Cattrall

For months, even years, Sarah Jessica Parker put the proverbial good face on a bad situation. While his Carrie’s Sex and the City certainly does not send them to say, the actress preferred to remain silent and not comment on the statements of former colleague Kim Cattrall. Samantha’s interpreter, now busy on Disney + with How I met your fatherhas often answered questions about her character’s absence in the controversial sequel And just like thatmaking no secret of the tensions between the cast.

And now Sarah Jessica Parker answers to the same question during a podcast chat Awards Chatter of the magazine The Hollywood Reporter. First of all she specified how much it is still “very difficult for her to talk about the situation”“I’ve always been very careful not to say anything that was considered unpleasant because that’s not the way I like to relate to such delicate conversations, right?”

In short, the actress says she is rather tired of the constant speculations. She would like to move on, but she is not allowed, especially by the way the character of Samantha has been treated in the new episodes: exiled to London, she skipped Mr. Big’s funeral (while sending flowers) and has always – or almost always – refused calls from her friends. The reason? In the script everything is explained with business reasons: when Carrie fired her because of the pandemic as her agent, Miss Jones was so resentful that she changed continent.

Sarah Jessica Parker said during the interview: “For me it is painful to continue talking about this alleged “catfight” (a fight between women, “kittens”), a fight, a fight, a fight. I have never in my life used unpleasant words towards any colleague. So no “catfight”. I have never engaged in a public fight, nor have I ever spit poison or stirred up rumors, nor has anyone else done it for me. Not my style. It’s not the way I handle situations. I would just like to stop talking about quarrels or using this term which does not reflect the state of affairs. I will not start asking her (Kim, ed.) Or others to talk about it, but it is very painful for me too ».

One thing, however, is keen to clarify: it’s not true that Kim rejected the sequel – Sarah Jessica Parker specifies – because in reality the production never asked her to return to the set: “She made it clear: she didn’t feel comfortable coming back, she didn’t want to do it so it wasn’t about throwing her out, it was just taking her act. We listened to her when she publicly talked about it saying it wasn’t a place she wanted to go back or a character she wanted to play or an environment where she would feel comfortable with her. When you reach a certain age you say to yourself “Ok, I understand”… ».

Closed question? Knowing the artists involved, probably not.
