Sasha Baron Cohen: Sue cannabis company for advertising with “Borat”

THE Sasha Baron Cohen sued an American clinic hemp who used the cinematic character of “Borat” for an outdoor advertisement. The British actor is claiming compensation of at least nine million dollars, according to the lawsuit filed in Massachusetts, accusing the Solar Therapeutics for copyright infringement. On the billboard in question, which was placed on a busy highway in Boston, “Borat” signals with his thumbs, while there is also the classic phrase-trademark of his “It’s nice”. Sasha Baron Cohen’s lawyer, David Condon, claims the company took a risk, hoping the actor would not see the ad.

The lawsuit alleges that the 49-year-old never advertised any of his products in the United States and Britain. “Despite the countless opportunities, for fear that this would undermine his credibility as an actor and serious social activist.” With the poster, the company falsely conveyed to the citizens the message that the actor promotes their products and that he collaborates with them, it is pointed out in the lawsuit. “On the contrary, Baron Cohen does not has never used cannabis in his life. “He would never take part in a cannabis advertising campaign, for any amount of money,” the lawyer points out in the lawsuit. as he “does not believe cannabis is a healthy choice”.
