Following the most recent eruption of Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano earlier this week, satellite images show how lava spread across the crater.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Thursday (26) that the eruptions have been paused, with lava flows decreasing, but that a recurrence “is possible in the coming days, but not certain ”.
The volcano is on orange alert, the USGS added, as some risks from the eruption, such as volcanic gases, remain.
