Satisfaction of I. Nikolakopoulos for the electoral process of SYRIZA

Elias Nikolakopoulos, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (KEFE) of SYRIZA, expressed his satisfaction for the electoral process in a statement, making the first announcements for participation. He estimated in particular that the participation in the ballot box of the president “is approaching and can exceed 150,000”.

In more detail, Elias Nikolakopoulos noted the following:

“Voting for the election of the President and the Central Committee ended at 21:00, it can only continue in the sections where there are queues with people waiting to vote.”

“The turnout in the presidential election, which was a major political issue, went very well,” he said, adding that “we can not give the exact number because in some cases a handwritten recording was needed.”

He estimated that the number of participants in the presidential election “is approaching and may exceed 150,000”, while in 1 to 1.5 hours after the closing of the ballot box, KEFE will be able to give the exact result with blank and invalid.

For the results of the Central Committee, he clarified, it will probably be needed until tomorrow afternoon, because “the counting of preference crosses is a long process”.

“We are very pleased,” he said, adding that “this does not mean that there were no problems but they were successfully dealt with, even if they caused delays.”

Finally, he stated that the results for the Statute have been completed but will be announced tomorrow, as he said the result of this vote “I do not think it concerns the general public”.
