The Hungarian capital authorities recognized the importance of Bitcoin creation and allowed the installation of the Satoshi Nakamoto monument. A bronze bust of the anonymous creator of the first cryptocurrency is located in the Graphisoft Business Park.
Yesterday, September 16, the opening ceremony of the monument took place, led by Andras Gyorfi, one of the co-authors of the statue project and the editor of the cryptocurrency site Kripto Akademia.
“Whoever Satoshi is, Bitcoin creates new values, and even more of them are created by the technology at the heart of Bitcoin – blockchain,” Derfi said.
The monument is a concrete pedestal with the upper part of the Satoshi figure. He is depicted wearing a sweatshirt or hooded cloak with a large Bitcoin logo on his chest. At the same time, the facial features of the statue are made as smoothed as possible, because the real identity of the creator of the first cryptocurrency is still unknown.
“Satoshi Nakamoto created money completely free of any middlemen. Bitcoin gives people financial freedom. We created this statue to remind you of what courage is capable of and that you need to dream of great things, ”said Debrczeni Barnabas, CEO of Hungarian cryptocurrency exchange Shinrai, during the opening ceremony.
Note that Bitcoin monuments have already been erected earlier, but this is the first time a monument to Satoshi Nakamoto has been erected.
