Saudi Arabia welcomed “the possibility of making a summit” between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, said the Saudi Foreign Ministry on Friday (14)
Trump indicated earlier this week that he could soon meet with the Russian President in Saudi Arabia, but noted that no formal decision was made on the subject.
The statement of the Saudi Foreign Ministry praised the call between the two presidents that took place on Wednesday (12) and reaffirmed “their continuous efforts to achieve lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine.”
The statement also expressed the “readiness of Saudi Arabia to provide its good offices to reach a political solution to the crisis,” in reference to the war in Ukraine.
