Savings has a net outflow of R$ 7.4 billion in November, points out BC

The balance of net withdrawals from Brazilians’ savings accounts reached R$7.4 billion in November this year. The data are from the savings report released this Tuesday (6) by the Central Bank (BC).

According to the institution’s data, the net balance for the month was a result of R$304.5 billion in savings deposits, while the withdrawal contingent was R$311.9 billion.

The balance registered in November is around 32% less than that registered in October this year. According to the Central Bank report, Brazilians withdrew R$11 billion more than they deposited in savings in October.

In the previous month, the balance of net withdrawals from Brazilians’ savings accounts broke a record, with the highest balance since 1995, the beginning of the historical series.

In the accumulated volume of the year, savings recorded a net withdrawal of R$ 109.4 billion. This represents an increase in withdrawals, compared to the same period of 2021, when from January to November, savings registered an accumulated net withdrawal of R$ 27.8 billion.

Until November of this year, the stock of savings reached R$ 986.4 billion, a drop in relation to the month of October, when the stock was at R$ 987.7 billion. This is the second month in a row of a fall in the stock of savings.
