Sberbank of Russia, or simply Sberbank, has launched its own platform for long-term car rental. For the first time, they started talking about the car subscription service from Sber back in February, but for several months the service was in test mode and only now the bank decided to launch it for all customers.
The service, called “SberAutosubscription”, allows you to rent a car for a period from 6 months to 3 years. But in the future, Sberbank promises to reduce the minimum rental period. Now a car by subscription can be issued in Moscow and the region. Also, the service will soon start working in St. Petersburg, and at the end of this or the beginning of next year it is planned to expand its geography to all regions of Russia.
Customers 21 and older can subscribe to the car. A prerequisite is a category B driver’s license and at least one year’s experience. The list of documents required to receive the service, in addition to the passport and rights, includes a certificate of income confirmation. It can be 2-NDFL or a payroll bank card statement.
There are 30 models to choose from – from popular KIA Rio and Skoda Rapid to premium Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X6. As in the case of rental services from other companies, the cost of SberAutosubscription depends on the specific model, configuration, rental period and projected mileage. So, for a new Volkswagen Polo, issued in installments for a year with a projected mileage of about 12 thousand kilometers, the client will pay 17,700 rubles a month. A Toyota Camry on the same terms will cost 32,700 rubles a month. This amount includes insurance (OSAGO and Casco), scheduled maintenance, seasonal tire replacement and rubber storage. That is, the client will have to pay only for refueling, washing and parking the rented car.
When making the first payment, Sber also requires a deposit in the amount equal to the monthly car rental. The deposit will be returned to the user after the end of the subscription, if the car is not damaged. By the way, it is impossible to transfer control of the rented car to another person without the consent of the banks. This entails a fine of 100 thousand rubles.
