This option appeared on the site due to a shortage of new cars – now the automotive market is going through hard times, demand significantly exceeds supply, and the marketplace decided to help users with the sale of used vehicles. And, as it turned out, the mechanism works very effectively – the first batch of used cars went under the hammer in 4 hours.
Oleg Golubtsov, general director of the SberAvto marketplace, said that at the launch of this option, the project bought 50 used cars, which were resold to new owners in just four hours. However, so far, the new opportunity has been implemented on the site only in a limited format – the buyback option is presented only for Moscow residents. Probably, it is also impossible to come from the regions to the capital and sell a car to Sber. But, on the other hand, the management of the marketplace is already talking about the prospect of the service entering the federal level – the expansion is planned for 2022.
In addition, in addition to regional restrictions, there are also certain requirements that you need to pay attention to. Firstly, the platform does not deal with buybacks of cars older than 10 years. Secondly, the vehicle’s mileage should be no more than 200 thousand kilometers. And, thirdly, only left-hand drive cars are subject to redemption. If these requirements are met, before the ransom procedure, specialists will go to inspect the car – they will carry out diagnostics and forensic examination, after which they will evaluate the car. If the seller agrees with the price, then there is a buyout and further resale.
At the same time, experts and analysts are very skeptical about this step – at the moment, when dealers are selling new cars with a huge waiting period and a decent list of additional options, the secondary market is already working for the seller. The demand for used cars has risen sharply and a vehicle can be sold without much difficulty using free sites for placing ads – there is no need to use the resale services from SberAuto, according to experts.
