The SberAutoTech company, which is part of the SberBank ecosystem, has presented a prototype of a fully unmanned electric vehicle of its own design called Flip.
The electric car is built on a platform of its own design, while it received a removable battery module for quick replacement in just 5 minutes. It is also reported that “Flip” will be able to use gas and hydrogen as a source of energy.
This solution actually removes the current restrictions for the use of electric vehicles: long charging of standard batteries and their high cost, dictated by the required capacity and power reserve of electric vehicles.

The vehicle is 3620 mm long and 1950 mm wide. Since there are no usual control systems inside, the interior space allows you to easily accommodate six passengers. The car is planned to be used as an unmanned taxi, as well as for cargo transportation. Passengers will have access to navigation through the 2GIS service, music from SberSvuk and video from the Okko online cinema.
“Flip” will be able to recognize users by faces, it will be equipped with a system of laser rangefinders, radars and cameras that recognize pedestrians, obstacles, and surrounding objects. He will be able to exchange information with other electric vehicles.
The presentation of the prototype is expected on June 2–5 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
