SBU discovered a large underground mining farm in Odessa

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the discovery of a large mining farm in Odessa. Investigators said that the miners stole millions of hryvnia worth of electricity.

As reported on the official website of the department, the miners were illegally connected to the “state facility of critical infrastructure.” Apparently, this is a railway facility and, as emphasized in the message, this could lead to accidents in the transport sector.

According to investigators, two local residents are responsible for the activities of the underground farm. At the same time, the scale is quite significant – law enforcement agencies confiscated more than 100 ASIC miners. Judging by the photographs, the equipment was placed in an industrial premises.

An investigation into the activities of an underground mining farm is underway, as well as an assessment of the damage caused. After that, the organizers of the farm will be charged. According to preliminary estimates by investigators, the miners stole millions of hryvnia worth of electricity.

In early December last year, the SBU discovered another large mining farm in the Buchansky district of the Kiev region. At that time, equipment worth $220,000 was confiscated. In addition, in July last year, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies revealed a large underground mining farm in Vinnitsa.
