The man is seen talking to someone else on the platform at Kharagpur Junction station, according to Jam Press. The conversation is interrupted when a cable falls on him, hitting him in the upper body. The man falls onto the tracks and after standing still for a while, appears to turn towards the tracks.
Bystanders rushed to his aid and eventually carried him away on a stretcher.
As the New York Post reports, the worker survived with some burns. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine exactly how the incident happened.
