The school year will end on 15 or 16 June (30 for kindergarten), but the school will not close: on a voluntary basis, students and teachers – paid extra – will continue the activities, together with external experts, until September, to consolidate learning, but above all the sociability, put to the test in a school year marked by closures and dad, due to the pandemic.
For this project, wanted by the Minister Patrizio Bianchi, have been allocated 150 million euros, which will be distributed to schools (approximately 18 thousand per institution), so that they can decide independently which interventions to propose, “in the management of the emergency situation and in the development of activities aimed at enhancing the extracurricular training offer, the recovery of basic skills , the consolidation of disciplines, the promotion of activities for the recovery of sociality ».
The Ministry met with the trade unions for a first comparison on the organization of these summer activities. Among those that can be proposed, visits to museums, theater, robotics laboratories, art and music, but also sports and remedial courses, since this year there will be no “all promoted”.
From remedial courses to art workshops
In particular, courses to reinforce and strengthen what has been learned are scheduled in June, with workshops, outdoor school, group study. In July and August, activities of aggregation and socialization will be privileged, such as physical education workshops and didactic games, singing, music, art, creative writing, citizenship education, environmental and sustainability education. In September, however, there will be space for welcoming and accompanying activities. All the activities of the summer school can be carried out both in the institutes and in theaters, cinemas, museums, libraries, parks and sports centers.
