School confiscated all her candy from a 9-year-old girl; they didn’t want her to earn money

The sale of smuggled sweets and treats in the classroom is an option that more than one student has resorted to in order to have an income and be able to pay for their studies or help with expenses at home.

Although there are institutions for which the fact that students have “little stores” inside the classroom does not cause them any problem, there are even those who support the initiative, there are schools in which their rules are so strict that they do not allow it to the point of prohibiting the student in question to do it again. Just like what happened to the girl who is the protagonist of the following story, who, after surprising her selling sweets in her classroom, had her merchandise confiscated. Furthermore, she forbade him to continue her business.

Carolina Haydaz, a nine-year-old Argentine girl, went viral on social networks after it became known that she was entering school snacks that his companions ordered him to sell them at recess. Due to her entrepreneurship, the girl used to earn around 900 pesos a day (approximately six dollars).

However, the teachers of the school, located in the town of Leandro N. Aleman in Misiones, Argentina, caught the bag with sweets, confiscated the merchandise and later prohibited the sale of sweets.

I told him that in class he couldn’t do anything because there he has to pay attention and study. She sold at recess, she did it for two weeks.

The girl’s parents were not only aware of the activity that their daughter was doing at school, but also helped Carolina to provide what her classmates asked of her. It turns out that the idea of putting a “little store” in the school arose because the school prohibited kiosks inside the institution, so as the girl’s father owns a food transport company, he helped his daughter to undertake your business.

I have a food distributor and I put together a backpack according to what the kids wanted. They asked for cookies, juices, ‘snacks’ and I gave them to them. The issue is that in a week sales increased and it no longer fit in that backpack. So, she had to carry a bag.

Carolina’s parents were surprised by the position that the school authorities took, since their daughter did it for fun and pleasure, not because she needed to earn a living.

For us it is normal. She comes and I teach her theory and practice. She gave him the merchandise and told him what was the amount that she had to return to pay for the products. But it is not profit, it is simply that she can learn other things beyond school.

Given the controversy that arose after prohibiting Carolina from selling sweets, the school’s director, Ingrid Marcuar, explained:

I understand that the girl does not have a bad attitude, it is not bad that she learns to make a living. Her parents allowed her to keep that money, they were not implementing child labor. But if every parent allows their child to sell at school, what is this going to be? A fair? Here is a healthy kiosk. A place is rented to one or two people, they are told what they can or cannot sell. In addition, the collection is to buy supplies for the school. We dedicate ourselves strictly to the pedagogical.

Despite the father’s dissatisfaction with the position that the school took, he assured that he understands that they have a regulation to follow. On the other hand, Carolina does not plan to stop selling her products, only that now she will do it in another place, either by setting up a table at the school door or in another space, but she intends to continue with her “little store” .
