According to the international media, it has been revealed that as a result of a shooting at a school in the Russian city of Izhevsk, in the Udmurtia region, at least 15 people died, of which 11 were children.

This unfortunate event occurred on September 26 after a man armed with a pistol killed 15 people and injured 24. According to the Russian Instruction Committee, among the fatalities are two teachers and two security guards from the school number 88.

The governor of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, went to the scene and reported that the perpetrator of this shooting has committed suicide. In addition, the country’s Ministry of the Interior stated that the police found the body of the attacker.

According to the state news agency TASS, the assailant was wearing a black T-shirt with Nazi insignia and a helmet. This was identified as Artem Kazantsev, 34, who was a local resident who was born in 1988 and was a student at the school where he carried out the shooting.

Investigators began searching Artem’s residence and tracking his “neo-fascist views of Nazi ideology.” For his part, spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the man was a person for whom there is a record as a patient in a psychiatric hospital and that he apparently belonged to a neo-fascist organization or group.

In addition to this, it was reported that the author was wearing a balaclava, was armed with two pistols and had a large amount of ammunition. This man arrived at the school around 11:00 am and, according to the students’ account, he killed one of the guards just to enter the main gate and then began to move between different classrooms.

In addition, according to the medical sources that treated the students, some minors jumped out of the window due to the impossibility of escaping through the corridors, which is why they present different injuries and fractures due to the fall from a height.

On the other hand, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, sent his condolences to the victims and denounced this event as “an act of inhuman terrorism”.
