The Bahia Civil Police temporarily arrested a 38-year-old school transport driver suspected of raping a 7-year-old child in the city of Teixeira de Freitas, in the south of the state. According to investigations, the man had abused the victim for three years. The arrest took place last Thursday (10).
The Teixeira de Freitas Specialized Police Station for Women’s Assistance is leading the investigations. According to the police, the temporary arrest warrant was issued by the Court.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the victim, who had suffered sexual abuse from the age of 7 to 10, only recently reported the fact to her parents. Investigations indicate that, at the time, the man took the victim to schools every day. Today, she is 15 years old. Now, the teenager will be heard by a specialized listener.
According to the corporation, on Thursday the suspect was interviewed and remained arrested. “The man presented himself at the specialized unit with a lawyer, at which time the precautionary measure was complied with, he underwent legal examinations and remains at the disposal of the Court”, he explains in a note.
