Schroders Capital is entrusted with a portfolio of 100 million euros by the German insurance company Barmenia, which includes a mix of assets.
The portfolio, which will be classified in Article 9 in accordance with the European Union SFDR regulations, will consist of investments in sustainable infrastructure and climate change risk insurance. The “core” of the portfolio will be the sustainability targets, which will be enhanced by investments in two funds, managed by the impact investor BlueOrchard, a member of the Schroders Group.
The mandate will, among other things, contribute to the efficiency and fulfillment of some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SBAs). Specifically, out of a total of 17 SBAs, this mandate targets the following: No. 6 (Clean Water and Sewerage), No. 7 (Economic and Clean Energy), No. 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), No. 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) ), No. 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and No. 13 (Climate Action).
The portfolio investment is expected to be completed within the next 36 months.
