Astronomers have identified new elements that reinforce the case of a mysterious ninth planet at the ends of our solar system, which may overturn what we know about the universe to date. An international team of scientists from Taiwan, Japan and Australia used 40 years of data from two space missions, aiming to identify signs of this distant planetary presence that moves around our sun. The case for the “planet nine” (or “planet X”, as NASA calls it) first appeared in 2016, when two astronomers from the California Institute of Technology showed evidence of a strong gravitational force far beyond Neptune, possibly from a large planet.
