Life on Earth may be started by a “petty”, created by waterfalls and waves of the ocean, according to a new study. The “petty bodies” are produced when water droplets from collapsing waves collide and break down. Scientists from Stanford University created these tiny electrical loads in a laboratory and combined them with gases that existed in the early atmosphere of the earth. As the Daily Mail reports, this combination formed chains of organic individuals (molecules), which included the DNA building blocks. To date, scientists have believed that countless lightning from early clouds above Earth’s surface produced electricity for an event that created the life about 3.5 billion years ago. Miller-Jurure’s ten-year theory had several imperfections, including the fact that lightning is rarely happening, which makes it difficult for scientists to believe that there were enough to provide the energy needed to create life throughout the ocean.
