Scientists may have solved the mystery of how Stonehendz was built 5,000 years ago

One of the largest mysteries surrounded by the Stonehentz monument may have been solved by experts after hundreds of years, giving answers about the origin of the emblematic stones. The researchers focused on a rock known as a Newall block, which was revealed during excavations about a century ago. One of the main discussions was whether this rock and other similar stones arrived at the point transferred from glaciers from Wales or whether people transported them more than 5,000 years ago. The new elements, led by Professor Richard Bevins of Aberystwyth University, compared the boulder Newall – which is about the size of a football ball – with samples of a rocky ledge in Wales. Through geochemical and microscopic analysis, they concluded that there is no evidence to support the interpretation that they were transported by glaciers.
