The coffin will remain closed during the period.

The queen’s coffin began its journey from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St. Giles, with King Charles III leading the procession. Elizabeth II’s other children – Princes Edwards and Andrew and Princess Anne – accompanied the King and Queen Consort Camilla.

The streets of Edinburgh were filled with spectators who remained silent as the procession slowly passed.

While the procession was in progress, Prince Andrew was walking around in morning attire while his brothers King Charles III, Princess Anne and Prince Edward wore military uniforms.

Prince Andrew is no longer an active royal. In May 2020, while facing a sexual abuse lawsuit in the United States, the Duke of York permanently renounced his military titles and charities.

Later this week, the queen’s coffin will arrive in London and stay there until her funeral, scheduled for next Monday (19).
