Scuf unveils custom DualSense for PS5: with petals, branded texture and profiles

Yesterday, December 7, Scuf, a fairly well-known company among console gamers, officially unveiled a line of its custom gamepads called Reflex, which are based on DualSense from the PlayStation 5 game console. This line includes three models – the basic Reflex for $ 199, the more advanced version of the Reflex The Pro for $ 229 and the top model in the Reflex FPS lineup for $ 259 – all gamepads work with both Sony’s next-gen console and PC via wired or wireless. In addition, it should be borne in mind that the price is indicated for the basic version of the gamepad – in the customizer it can be significantly increased.

The company also said that the Reflex gamepads are based on a standard Sony DualSense gamepad PCB, so the device will have the same set of functions and capabilities as the original controller of the Japanese company. For example, the gamepad also charges via USB Type-C, is equipped with a microphone mute key, a touchpad, and the same set of input elements (including adaptive triggers). But for an additional $ 120 on top of the cost of the original controller, the user gets a different color scheme of the device (can be configured in the customizer), special rings to soften the travel of the sticks and, of course, petals.

On the back of the gamepad there are special hardware elements in the shape of a petal that can be customized – for example, you can add a certain key or several actions to the petal to have a certain advantage in the virtual world. And given that the gamepad can store three profiles with settings at once, the user gets twelve unique combinations – this is convenient if the gamer launches several different video games from different genres. At the same time, the kit comes with several petal options that allow you to customize the device for the greatest comfort.

The Reflex Pro and Reflex FPS models have a special coating on the back for a firm grip of the gadget with your hands, so that the gamepad does not slip out even during active gaming sessions. And Reflex FPS also has a proprietary chip with instant triggers, which are somewhat similar to a mouse click – they are triggered instantly, allowing you to shoot or aim faster than with the normal course of triggers on the controller. This is the only gamepad in the lineup that is devoid of tactile and adaptive triggers – everything is done with an emphasis on reaction speed and accuracy.
