The Japanese company Scythe has presented an updated version of the popular Mugen 5 processor cooling system. It was named Mugen 5 Black Edition and catalog number SCMG-5100BE. This is a variation of the Mugen 5 Rev. B, released since April 2017. As the name suggests, the new cooler is painted black. However, this is not the only difference. In addition, it received a different fan and an upgraded mount.
The design of the Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition includes an aluminum heatsink whose fins are threaded onto six 6mm U-shaped copper heatpipes. A black 120mm Kaze Flex 120 PWM-1500 RPM fan is mounted on the radiator. Its rotation speed is regulated by PWM in the range of 300-1500 rpm. The maximum speed corresponds to a productivity of 113 m3/ h and a noise level of 29.75 dB. Product dimensions are 136.0 x 110.5 x 154.5 mm, weight – 890 g. The kit includes an additional holder for installing a second fan.
The Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition cooling system is compatible with LGA115x, LGA 1200, LGA 2011 (v3), LGA 2066, FM1, FM2, FM2 +, AM2, AM2 +, AM3, AM3 + and AM4 processor sockets.
