The teams that are part of Operation Javari, in search of Bruno Pereira and Dom Phillips, located “apparently human organic material” in the Itaquaí River, near the port of Atalaia do Norte, in Amazonas, according to information released this Friday (10).
The content will be sent for expert analysis by the National Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Police. Blood samples found on Amarildo da Costa de Oliveira’s vessel will also be examined at the institute – a suspect who is in temporary detention.
To compare with the identified blood, agents collected reference genetic material from both missing persons.
Indigenist Bruno Pereira and British journalist Dom Phillips have been missing since last Sunday (5).
According to the Union of Indigenous Organizations of Vale do Javari (Univaja), Phillips was going to a place called Lago do Jaburu to interview indigenous people, accompanied by the Brazilian.
